A man came into the Co-Op yesterday. I asked, "How are you doing?" "Still looking at the grass." With his hands showing about the size of half a foot, he continued, "About... here, but still looking at the grass." It took me a moment to take in what he meant, but, I too was feeling this way. I've been here on Haida Gwaii for, 4 months. Funny how after the deepest dive into my depths, I am sent to such an intense (but healing), shadowey, cold and rainy island. I put myself in a uniform, to stand at a til, as a reflection to each person, having a winter of their own. I saw flowers poking through the cement yesterday. The light is returning and I am THRILLED! Figured I'd be stuck in the dark forever, maybe that's how we all felt. I have made the choice to move on from my position as a cashier at the Co-Op. I'm levelling myself up to the next opportunity. I will stay in the service industry. I met a man. A man met me. "Hey Universe I'm talking to you, I've moved to Haida Gwaii to grow my roots, got a job being of service, am teaching myself to play an instrument and apply myself in other areas too. Hey Universe, I'm talking to youuu... Hey Universe, I'm talking to you, I'M WAITING FOR MY MAN THAT'S STRONG AND FUNNY AND CRAZY ABOUT ME TOO!" Sang and prayed. Prayed and sang. Feel as though I left Peru as a baby bird, newly hatched. Arrived on island with legs still learning to walk. Feeling the support of the Earth, with home, work, family and man as reference points to dance from. It's the very beginning of the most Mythic life I DESERVE! Thank you. Gracias. How'aa.
